Joshua Thinnes moved to San Francisco, CA in 2008 to pursue a passion in music but quickly found himself immersed in the world of whiskey and wine. He spent over a decade developing his palate as a buyer for the PlumpJack Wine & Spirit locations. Traveling to distilleries all around the world, he has built a loyal following by selecting private barrels of spirits for retailers, bars, restaurants and private clients. In 2018 he founded Subtle Spirits, a contemporary broker bottling brand that selects single casks for each of its Original releases with custom label artwork, specifically designed to pair with the spirit inside.
